Are you a nut or a bolt?

WIMBERLEY - Brenda Freed, singer-songwriter, proudly announces the release of her new CD, Sort It Out, available immediately.

A CD release party will be held at the Triple Crown, N. Edward Gary in San Marcos, on Wednesday, January 26, at 6:30 p.m. There is no cover charge for the event.

Sung with abundant passion and commitment, the ten original songs on Sort It Out look at the nuts and bolts of love from every conceivable angle: from true-to-life lyrics of the title cut "Sort It out", to the love-seeking "Wish I May", to the tongue-in-cheek "I'll Be Damned" to the playful excitement in "Trouble" to the comforting "Faith Healer".

Featuring Tim "Chainsaw" Harden on 12-string bass, and co-produced by Brenda Freed (vocals, guitar), Merel Bregante (drums), and Val Roessling (guitar), Sort It Out is overall electric and uplifting.

Brenda Freed's extraordinary versatility and range have made her a regular on the Texas music scene since she arrived in the Hill Country in 1991 by bicycle - after a 9,000 mile bike ride.

Now she is broadening those horizons, enchanting audiences throughout the Southwest, Midwest, and England with her powerful songs and her vocal range.

Brenda's "strong voice, mixed with her crystal clear guitar music [catches] the audience's attention and [holds] it" (Jason Terral, Daily University Star, SWTSU). Brenda was recently nominated for the "Rising Star" Humbie Award sponsored by Humbletime Productions in the Texas Hill Country.

Freed also has a knack for attracting exceptional musicians to her side. Guitarist Val Roessling, with twenty years of professional credits under his belt, first heard her music in 1996 and has performed with her ever since. In 1999, she assembled a full band with Chainsaw Harden on bass.

The unbridled enthusiasm of the Brenda Freed Band is reflected in the "polished spontaneity" of their live performances.
