O'Malarkey is a Celtic/Irish band formed in 2001. Brenda Freed joined them on bass in 2004 and played with them until the summer of 2006.   Other members of the band are Gene Milligan on guitar, mandolin, harmonica and vocals; Virginia Davis on fiddle, recorder and backup vocals; Marissa Harris on percussion and vocals; Terrie Cooper on guitar and vocals, and Bob Pennington (Wimberley Bob) on whistles and percussion.

O'Malarkey is described as being fun with a "raw" kind of sound that adds authenticity to their performances. They play regularly in Texas at Smithville's Excalibur, Salado's Tablerock Fantasy Faires and St. Patrick's Day at Cafe on the Square in San Marcos. They are currently performing the third Saturday of every month at the Blue Goat Gourmet Deli in San Marcos, TX and have plans to do regular Irish sessions there.

O'Malarkey plays mostly Irish music including lively tunes, slow airs, and the occasional rollicking sing-a-long.   They will be recording at Brenda's studio, Moondance Recording Studios, in 2006.
